Payment rules
Built to prevent fee bypassing.
- Direct phone, email, social media, and exact address fields are blocked before payment.
- Customer pays the moving price, 8% platform fee, and 60% of Stripe processing before contact details unlock.
- Customer contact information is hidden from all job bidders until payment has been made to MovenHelpers.
- Helper government ID is never shown to customers. After payment, the customer receives a private verification photo and matching platform code.
- MovenHelpers keeps the nonrefundable 8% platform fee shown on the customer receipt.
- Stripe processing is split 60% to the customer and 40% to the helper or company.
- The helper or company receives the moving price minus their 40% Stripe processing share after both sides confirm completion.
- If multiple helpers are requested, equal work/equal pay is assumed unless the customer clearly discloses a pay difference footnote on the job post.
- Customer accounts are retained for one year and may be renewed by the customer.
- Individual helper accounts are retained for one month and may be renewed by the helper.
- Company accounts are retained for one year and may be renewed by the company account holder.
- Company providers pay $200.00 yearly plus platform fees on platform-generated jobs.

Contact and ID protection notice
The platform collects only the information needed to create accounts, verify providers, process marketplace payments, and protect users from fee bypassing. Government-issued ID documents are used for verification and should be stored securely, restricted to authorized review, and retained only as long as required for legitimate business, safety, fraud prevention, and legal purposes.
Contact information, exact addresses, emails, phone numbers, and social media handles must not be posted publicly. Direct contact details are released only after the required platform fee has been paid.
Helper government ID documents are used only for platform verification and are not shown to customers or public job bidders. After payment, the customer may see the helper's private verification photo and matching platform code to confirm that the person arriving is the helper verified by the platform.
Customer and company accounts are retained for one year unless renewed, closed, or removed earlier according to platform rules. Individual helper accounts are retained for one month unless renewed, closed, or removed earlier. Account holders are responsible for renewing their own accounts before expiry.

Marketplace and liability notice
This platform is an online marketplace that connects customers seeking moving-related services with independent helpers, movers, and moving companies in Canada. The platform is not a moving company, employer, employee, agent, partner, joint venturer, fiduciary, insurer, or representative of any customer, helper, mover, or company.
Helpers, movers, and moving companies are independent third-party service providers and are responsible for their own licensing, permits, insurance, taxes, tools, vehicles, equipment, employees, subcontractors, conduct, safety practices, pricing, availability, and legal compliance.
To the maximum extent permitted by Canadian law, the platform is not liable for claims, losses, injuries, damages, theft, property damage, delays, cancellations, poor workmanship, nonpayment, misrepresentation, illegal conduct, disputes, or other issues arising from dealings between users or the public. Nothing excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded under applicable Canadian law.
The platform does not mediate disputes and is not an arbitrator, tribunal, court, insurer, or legal representative for any customer, helper, mover, or company. If a dispute arises between a customer and a helper, mover, or company, the parties are responsible for seeking redress from the appropriate authorities, court, tribunal, regulator, insurer, or other lawful process.
Once the required platform fees have been paid, any remaining service balance is released or payable to the helper, mover, or company according to the agreed service terms. Helpers, movers, and companies are independent contractors or independent businesses and are solely responsible for reporting income, paying taxes, remitting applicable sales taxes if required, and meeting all other legal and regulatory obligations.
Caveat emptor: users must exercise caution, judgment, and due diligence.
